OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE</span></font></b></p>

were Philip Balcombe, Beverly Busching (ex officio), Dimitri Mihalas, Reuben Hersh,
Roland Pool, Jennifer Wellington (Clerk in waiting) and Ford Robbins (Clerk)</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>1. Ford gave a short reading from Chaim Potok�s novel,
<i><span style='font-style:italic'>Davita�s Harp,</span></i> regarding one�s
relationship to discontent in the world, followed by silent worship.</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>2. Members of the committee shared concerns regarding
themselves, others within the Meeting, and members of Worship Groups.</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>3. The Query for Sixth Month, 2007:� &quot;Do we look
for and recognize 'that of God' in all others? Do we love our neighbor as
ourselves?&quot;</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>4. M &amp; O next took up the Meeting�s request that
it make recommendations to Meeting regarding the charge and formation of the
Special Advisory Committee on Stewardship and Long Range Planning &quot;within
the larger consideration of the ongoing process of future planning in the
meeting.&quot; M &amp; O discussed this issue for most of the remainder of the
meeting without full resolution. We agreed to consider draft language for a
recommendation to Business Meeting by e-mail. After such consideration, M &amp;
O makes the following recommendations to Business Meeting:</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in;text-autospace:none'><font size=3
face=Times><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>&quot;The Special Advisory Committee
on Stewardship and Long Range Planning should assess, develop, recommend and
prioritize alternatives for the physical and spiritual needs and care of Santa
Fe Monthly Meeting. Such alternatives will, of necessity, require an assessment
of the financial considerations connected therewith. However, the committee
should not involve itself in the planning of fund raising. Such planning should
be undertaken by a separate committee. Members of the Special Committee should
include members and attenders with experience or expertise in planning, design,
construction, real estate, law, historic building requirements and finance as
well as the history of Meeting. We suggest that at least one Trustee, in
addition to the Clerk of Meeting, be included as a member of the Special
Committee. One person may have experience in more than one area.&quot;</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>5. M &amp; O then briefly addressed whether Meeting
should become a &quot;Sanctuary&quot; for an immigrant family(�ies</span></font><font
size=2><span style='font-size:11.0pt'>)</span></font> subject to an Immigration
and Customs Enforcement Deportation Order. M &amp; O will continue to consider
this issue.</p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>6. M &amp; O will consider other issues on its agenda
by e-mail.</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>The M &amp; O meeting closed with silent worship.</span></font></p>

style='font-size:12.0pt;font-weight:bold'>Special Advisory Committee on
Stewardship and Long Range Planning</span></font></b>:� Friends approved the
special committee to work on long-range planning as described above.� We
approved of the following additions to M &amp; O's proposal:</p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>&#61623;�������� The charge of this committee is to
research alternatives for the physical needs and care of Santa Fe Monthly
Meeting, in the context of Friends' spiritual traditions as well as the goals
of the Meeting. </span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>&#61623;�������� The Committee should be comprised of
Santa Fe members and attenders, and will seek additional expertise as needed. </span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>&#61623;�������� The Committee is not charged with
short-term needs fundraising. The Building &amp; Finance Committees should
address immediate concerns (now to 12 months) with money already approved, and
ask for further assistance if needed.</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>Many concerns were raised about this process, during
which Mary Ray</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>knit two sweaters for Peruvian orphans.� These
concerns were:</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.25in;text-autospace:none'><font size=3
face=Times><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Friends emphasized the importance of
proceeding with visioning/future plans, especially for the housing of the
Meeting, with vigor.</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.25in;text-autospace:none'><font size=3
face=Times><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>That long-range planning not obscure
immediate needs.</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.25in;text-autospace:none'><font size=3
face=Times><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>We need to agree on a set of goals
for the future before we need fundraising.</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.25in;text-autospace:none'><font size=3
face=Times><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>We need more seats.� With more people
we will better be able to</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.25in;text-autospace:none'><font size=3
face=Times><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>support the life of the Meeting,
practically and spiritually.</span></font></p>

style='font-size:12.0pt'>The financial report was received after Business
Meeting, as Frank has been in China.&nbsp; The General Fund gained $458 net
for&nbsp; April, ending with a balance of $6773.61.&nbsp; The Maintenance Fund
gained a net of $2272.6, ending with a balance of $9,277.58.</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=1 face=Times><span
style='font-size:6.0pt'>&nbsp;</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>Bob Gaines presented us with a manual for the
responsibilities and procedures of the Finance Committee and Treasurer. Finance
Committee has described the duties of the Treasurer in this manual, so that
they might be split between two or more people if needed.� The duties of the
treasurer are extensive. Some of these duties may be handled by Finance
Committee in the future.</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=1 face=Times><span
style='font-size:8.0pt'>&nbsp;</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>Meeting accepted Finance Committee's report and
approved the transfer of responsibility of scholarship approval from the
Treasurer to the Meeting Clerk and Clerk of M &amp; O.</span></font></p>

style='font-size:5.0pt'>&nbsp;</span></font></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><font size=3 face=Times><span
style='font-size:12.0pt'>Accuracy and safety of bookkeeping and handling of donations
were discussed.� Please let the committee know if you have any suggestions. Bob
&amp; Peggy Giltrow will audit Frank's books soon and report to Business
Meeting.</span></font></p>

successful. Luke did not win a Cadillac; he won a Camelback� (hydration
device).� Earthday/week was a� success, as was the lightbulb exchange.
Discussions of solar radiant heat for the Meetinghouse are on hold while
Meeting decides on the future of the Meetinghouse.� First Day Schoolers
recently planted an organic garden, and worked on a compost pile.� The
committee is very energetic; if you have ideas for them please talk to Mary Ray
